Hi
I was reading the article today in the Montreal Gazette. May I commend you on your courage to take a bad situation and turn it into something positive. I respect you for your courage despite the challenges of dealing with fear. I too suffer from anxiety, depression, panic attacks, you name it.
You have done a beautiful thing here in giving people the opportunity to express themselves.
Good luck!

Hi,
I saw the article in today’s gazette, and I think it’s amazing that someone is finally putting out a magazine for all of us suffering from anxiety problems. I’ve been suffering with anxiety for over four years now and had agoraphobia for a very short time. I was just wondering when the magazine was coming out and if it was going to be online only or in paper as well that someone can subscribe to. I am very excited for this release and wish you all the best in the success of this magazine. Also, is there a way to subscribe to your site to receive news and updates, so that I can know when the magazines are coming out?
Thanks again,
melanie

I would just like to say that what you are doing is wonderful, and that I plan to show my appreciation in monetary terms (donation), when my finances permit!
At the moment I am relatively poor, so the donation may be a long time in coming, but it’s coming!
The reason for me contacting you is the comment found on Paul’s bio, “mentor to the weak-minded.” I find the comment quite offensive, and not in conjunction with the overall ethos of your magazine.
If to be “irked” is seen as being weak, then our societies do have a tremendous problem indeed.
Regards,
Aris

I’m sure that you’ve heard that “your story describes me perfectly” but for me i was never able to get past it not then and not now. I still have the problems you described in the [Montreal Gazette] story “when fear takes hold” and in a DAILY manner i attempt to confront these issues to take my life back but as I said “it’s a spiral and i remember a time when i (still plagued but earlier in life) was a lot more open. i feel i’ve only become jaded and hate the world for what it’s become and i have not. Yet at the same time i am noticeably different than ANYONE i’ve ever met and do not really know how to fit in.
Since i’ve been smoking Marijuana it’s leveled me out and allowed me to see how normal people deal with a day and it damn near makes me cry when i think of the fact that if i quit for a given time (not a day, more like near a month) i get back a huge anxiety that starts coming out of nowhere and then once the anxiety takes hold i become more susceptible to the bouts of insomnia sometimes drowsy and burned out others on the other end means days on end without sleeping (up to 3-5 days sometimes in bad times) and then the last symptom for me… a rage for how my life is and the world for ruining it (developed by years of being picked on at school or wherever); problem is once cornered i lose the ability to think as fast and witty as i can when calmed and i will immediately jump to violent behavior that although i dislike seeing in me has done its job and beat most of the people who picked on me down to the floor. i could go on but i’ll stop bothering you and let you get to something of consequence.
Will talk to you soon maybe and if not well look for me on irked, who knows maybe i'll be on there in some way shape or form.
thanks for listening,
Modern Barbarian

I am a pilot with Air Canada and I work as well with DePlour Research and Training Centre Inc. (www.deplour.com). I was over at my parents’ place a few hours ago and my father, a retired pilot and one who helps a great deal with my company, gave me the article from the Gazette.
Our Centre gives seminars to individuals who have anxiety with regards to flying, however the approach we use is the blue print for all anxiety disorders, panic attacks, etc. Our approach is different from the main stream because we go to the source of the anxiety and we explain in very simple terms what is fear and why it is protecting us. We bring awareness to it all — and we are very successful in doing so.
I have known anxiety in the past and other than flying airplanes for a living, a goal of mine is to help individuals with their anxieties so that they may live a life with as little anxiety as possible.
I am convinced you have tried numerous approaches to improve your situation… However, it would be my pleasure to share with you some of our findings and perhaps help you attain your goal of living with total freedom.
Warm Regards,
Marc-Antoine Plourde
