Thanks to something called “cochlear implant technology,” tens of thousands of deaf and severely hard of hearing people around the world are now able to hear for the first time. They are able to have verbal debates. They are able to talk over the telephone. And, lo and behold, they are able to listen to music. Can you imagine being an adult and hearing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World for the first time? Or Billy Joel’s Piano Man? Or John Lennon’s Imagine? Or The Black Eyed Peas My Humps?!! mePOD gives the formerly-deaf (!) a chance to review their favorite songs!
