What would an agoraphobic nomad look like? What about a homeless agoraphobe? What does an agoraphobe do for fun? What do you get when you cross a free spirit with an agoraphobe? How many agoraphobes does it take to change a light bulb? How many would it take if the lamp was outside? Agoraphobia (from the Greek words for “fear of the marketplace”) may be characterized by anything from complete social paralysis and inability to leave one’s home to compulsively needing an aisle seat at the movies. The Wandering Agoraphobe is a column dedicated to demystifying agoraphobia. It is a column in which you will find real-life agoraphobes writing about their lives and challenges.
